Yukon River

The Yukon River is a watercourse of northern North America. Over half of the river lies in Alaska, USA, with the other portion lying in and giving its name (meaning great river in Gwich'in[?]) to Canada's Yukon Territory. It was one of the principal means of transportation during the Yukon Gold rush in 1898 to 1899.
