Rosa Luxemburg

Rosa Luxemburg (March 5, 1870 - January 15, 1919) was a German politician and revolutionary.

Rosa Luxemburg was born in Lublin, now Poland. She was a leader of the German communist party during the Weimar republic. Together with Karl Liebknecht[?] she was the leader of the "Spartakusbund" (spartacists[?]).

In december 1918 she co-founded the German Communist party (KPD - Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands), which tried to seize power in January 1919 in an uprising called the Spartacist revolt[?], which ended by her and Karl Liebknecht's capture in Berlin. On the same day, both were killed by the soldiers of the "Freikorps".
