Japanese American

A Japanese-American is a person of Japanese ancestry or origin who was either born in or is an immigrant to the United States. There are three main groups of Japanese Americans; the Issei, the Nisei, and the Sansei.

Many of them suffered from discrimination during Japanese internment in World War II which was a relocation of Japanese Americans living on the West Coast to concentration camps. (Hawaii, which had a sizable Japanese American population, did not participate in the internment policy.)
