Indian numerals

India has a rich history in Mathematics. India is known as the motherland for the Hindu-Arabic numerals. The positional system[?] of numerical notation, and the use of the digit 0 as a part of it, originated in India around the 5th century A.D.

India has a large number of languages, broadly divided into the Dravidian and Sanskritic groups. Hindi derives from Sanskrit and is widely spoken - by about 40% of the population.

Written below is a list of some Hindi numbers with their phonetic proununciation and representation in devanagari script which will be visible with a unicode font and utf-8 encoding of the web page. :
