Feodor II of Russia

Feodor II of Russia (1605)

Born in Moscow in 1589, Feodor II was the son and 16 year old successor to Boris Godunov. Though he was physically robust and well-educated, the boyars who has supported his father's authority were unwilling to swear allegiance to him. In June 1605, a group of boyars seized control of Moscow and arrested the tsar. Feodor and his mother were murdered shortly afterwards.
