Fanny Craddock

Fanny Craddock was a television cook of former times. She and husband Johnny, who was her stooge, are among the most famous of TV chefs, in part due to her explosive personality. Her recipes were much more up-to-date than previous TV chefs. Her popularity went downhill when she outraged an "amateur" cook for use of English foods, rather than French food which she preferred. She was parodied many times-including by Betty Marsden as Fanny Haddock in Beyond Our Ken and Daphne Whitethigh in Round the Horne.
