Cornell University

Cornell University is a university in Ithaca, New York and the Land grant university of New York state. The Medical College and the Graduate School of Medical Sciences are in New York City.

Cornell was founded in 1865 by businessman Ezra Cornell[?] and respected scholar Andrew Dickson White, and is not to be confused with Cornell College[?].

Cornell includes thirteen colleges and schools. On the Ithaca campus are the seven undergraduate units and four graduate and professional units. Seven schools make up Cornell University, 4 private schools: Arts and Sciences, Art, Architecture and Planning, Hotel, and Engineering; and 3 State University of New York schools: Agriculture, Human Ecology, and Industrial and Labor relations.

Cornell has 13,300 undergraduates and 6,200 graduate and professional students.

The Johnson Art Museum[?] at Cornell was designed by I. M. Pei. Luminaries who have been associated with Cornell include Carl Sagan and Norman Malcolm[?].

The sports teams are all called "Big Red". They participate in the Ivy League and the ECAC[?].
