Christian Morgenstern (May 6, 1871 - 1914) was a German author.
German culture is not too fond of the nonsensical. Morgenstern’s poetry, which was inspired by English nonsense rhymes, is immensely popular. Many Germans know some of his poems by heart.
His philosophical and mythical works were largely influenced by Nietzsche, father of nihilism, and Rudolf Steiner, father of anthroposophy.
