Bonnie Tyler

Bonnie Tyler was born June 8, 1953 in South Wales. Her first single My My Honeycomb failed to make the charts. In 1976 she underwent surgery for nodules found on her throat. The operation changed her voice, making it huskier.

Her second single Lost In France--recorded before her operation--became a success both in the UK and Europe. Her biggest hit It's A Heartache soon followed. For years her singles and albums were fairly unsuccessful, but in 1983 with her worldwide # 1 hit, Total Eclipse Of The Heart written by Jim Steinman, she made a comeback.
